Our culture is one of high performance, continuous development, and shared success. We promote from within and invest heavily in the progression of our people – because when our people thrive, so do our clients. We’re proud to have been named one of the Professional Adviser’s Best Financial Advisers to Work For 2025.
About the role:
As a Technical Paraplanner, you will play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the quality, consistency, and compliance of Attivo’s financial planning advice. Acting as a technical authority within the paraplanning function, you will support advisers and paraplanners with complex client cases, strengthen file quality, and drive continuous improvement across suitability reporting, templates, and automation.
This role will also lead the ongoing development of suitability report templates and other project templates, ensuring they remain technically robust, efficient, and aligned to regulatory requirements and client needs. You will work closely with Compliance and the wider Proposition team, escalating risks appropriately and contributing to a consistently high-quality advice process that supports both advisers and clients.
You will review and sign off remedial actions arising from Technical Competence Checks, analyse file quality trends, and implement improvements that raise standards and reduce risk across the business.
About you:
You are an experienced and technically strong paraplanning professional with a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and a deep understanding of pensions, investments, and regulatory requirements. You bring a meticulous approach to report writing, with the ability to handle complex cases while maintaining clarity, accuracy, and a strong client focus.
You are confident analysing trends, identifying root causes of file quality issues, and translating insight into practical improvements, whether through wording changes, template enhancements, or targeted support for paraplanners. You are comfortable working independently, managing a varied workload, and maintaining high standards under pressure.
You demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and discretion at all times, and you are committed to continuous technical development. Experience working within an IFA environment is essential, and experience as a paraplanner, Chartered status, degree-level education, or familiarity with Intelliflo would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Review, approve, and sign off remedial actions arising from Technical Competence Checks, ensuring all actions meet regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on file quality trends, implementing corrective actions to drive measurable improvements in advice quality.
- Draft and complete the most technically complex suitability reports, ensuring they are accurate, compliant, and clearly articulated for clients.
- Own, maintain, and continuously improve suitability report templates, focusing on technical accuracy, consistency, automation, and client experience.
- Reduce “suitable with comments” outcomes through insight-led trend analysis, improved wording, and targeted guidance and training for paraplanners.
- Ensure compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, escalating risks, breaches, or concerns promptly and accurately to the Compliance Officer.
- Maintain up-to-date product, technical, and regulatory knowledge and apply this learning directly to advice processes and documentation.

- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
- Strong technical knowledge of pensions and investments.
