Our client is a leading investment management firm in the UK, overseeing more than £44 billion in client assets. With a history spanning nearly 200 years, they’re dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and understanding the unique needs of their clients.

As a result of their ongoing success, they’re searching for a portfolio manager to join their team in Bournemouth.

The Bournemouth office is an 18 strong team, with a 4 people portfolio team who are responsible for managing over £2billion of clients assets.

Job overview:

This role involves conducting critical analysis of macro and financial trends, interpreting research, and constructing and managing portfolios for private clients, SIPPS, trusts, charities, and corporates. You will work closely with the Investment Managers and other teams to deliver a top-level wealth management service to clients.

Duties include, but not limited to the following

  • Liaise with client relationship managers
  • Construct portfolios using various asset classes to meet investment objectives
  • Contribute ideas to develop investment strategy
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of portfolio construction theory
  • Prepare schemes to illustrate portfolios to new clients
  • Attend meetings
  • Liaise with the research team
  • Monitor portfolio performance

In summary your primary objective will be to deliver high-quality, professional portfolio management services to a diverse range of stakeholders, covering both portfolio management and client servicing.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Level 4 (IAD/IMC)
  • Ideally working towards Level 7
  • Strong interest in investments
  • Enthusiastic with ability to work to deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • IT literate with strong system experience
