Job Description:

Recruit UK are working on an excellent opportunity for a Head of Client Service in Exeter to join a Financial Planning firm.

This company is going through exceptional growth and as a result are seeking a head of client service to join them to manage and support the back-office team. This client is motivated by their staff’s success and will do all they can to ensure they’re on the right track which is where you come in!

Within this role you will be required to complete the following:

  • Management of the client administration and report writing team
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures
  • Provide technical support to advisers, support staff and clients
  • Your key duties each day will include: understanding the financial planning process, ensuring client file requirements are met and you and the team adhere to FCA requirements
  • Manage the database/input system and provide training to the team where necessary
  • You will support the paraplanning team and provide training
  • Attend training courses and develop relevant knowledge
  • You will provide a dedicated service to the Directors by researching products and funds, preparing reports and advisory papers
  • You will oversea the workflow between the advisers and the back office team
  • Support the compliance manager
  • Conduct appraisals
  • Attend client meetings when necessary
  • Conduct regular visits to all offices in the group to support with training and aligning processes / t&c monitoring


  • Salary negotiable £38,000 - £48,000 d.o.e

Skills and experience required:

  • Diploma in Financial Services, Chartered (desirable)
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience as a senior paraplanner/administrator or manager within an IFA/Wealth Management office
  • Ability to manage your workload and delegate to others
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Team player
  • A keen eye for detail
  • IT Literate: Word, Excel and the ability to learn new software systems
  • Understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements
