We are looking for an experienced field-based Compliance Consultant based in London or the South to join us as we move into the next phase of growth at Apricity. London – Adviser Support – Up to £45k – Full Time Vital Stats Company: Apricity Compliance Location: London / the south Department: Business Development & Client Relations Salary: Up to £45k + benefits Basis: Full Time About the Role This is a new role, created due to the level of demand we are experiencing, and the variety of support our firms require. Whilst we currently have clients spread across the country we now need additional consultants in the London or South region to help with our growing demand in that area. Our head office is based in Darlington with a smaller London space, which the ideal candidate can work from when required. Travel to Darlington to meet with the team would be required on occasion too. The day to day job would include provide consultancy services to adviser firms, perhaps having the ability to go in and audit firms, as well as helping the rest of the team with day to day tasks such as complex file reviews, interpreting regulatory changes and helping our clients with queries. We would also require the candidate to attend industry events, i.e. APCC & FCA events where necessary. Duties and responsibilities: Providing consultative and audit services, to our clients, either face to face or remotely. Interpreting guidance and legislation and helping firms implement relevant processes and procedures, suited to their companies, to ensure they are on track with these. Support firms that require regulatory support both in terms of financial advice, and running their own discretionary portfolios. Acting as point of contact for technical or complex compliance queries. Spotting, interpreting and delivering upcoming changes, in regulation and any areas that will impact financial advisers. Working with the in house - adviser support team to turn this into a practical solution our member firms can use. Working with the Regulation team to keep abreast of FCA consultations and papers and provide commentary and feedback to all relevant parties on these. About You We understand that the world of compliance can be extremely varied – and no two roles are the same. We have therefore summarised the key attributes we think are needed but if you think you are the right person for us, and don’t match these entirely, let us know: Demonstrate experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone with both the compliance expertise, and the ability to turn it into plain English. Understand that compliance is not a ‘tick box’ exercise. Have experience of dealing with holistic financial planning focused firms, ideally those with DFM permissions, and have an awareness of how financial services is evolving. An understanding of all current regulatory legislation, as well as those already on the horizon. Preferably have or be working towards a Level 4 qualification (financial or regulatory). Experience in providing training, to advisers and compliance support people, would be advantageous. The ability to self-manage, having worked on projects unsupervised previously, and keep track of different projects to meet deadlines. The ability to stay focused under pressure – we’re not joking when we say it gets busy!
